Sylvia Farber, owner and founder of 101 Advocacy, holds a BA in Special Education and Elementary Education from Florida Southern College and a master's in special education from Florida State University. Sylvia has experience in various special education settings including classroom teacher, Special Education Department Head, and Alternative Certification Instructor. She has worked as an advocate helping families navigate the special education process since 2008.
Sylvia is the mother of three children--one with developmental delays.
Jessica holds a BA in History and a master’s in teaching from Southern Oregon University. She also has completed additional graduate work in special education. Jessica has 10 years of teaching experience including serving as a high school general education collaboration teacher and special education teacher in both elementary and secondary settings. Jessica also has 4 years of experience as an administrator/district representative for ARD meetings and two years' experience as a Campus Section 504 Coordinator. Jessica is the mother of one child with behavioral exceptionalities and has a sister with a learning disability.
Nancy holds a BS in Psychology, a Master of Educational Psychology and a Doctorate in Educational Administration all from Texas A&M. Nancy has over 40 years of experience in the field of special education. She has served as a teacher, principal of special education campuses, and Director of Special Education.
Nancy has 2 children and 4 grandchildren. Her brother has a learning disability.
Ashley holds a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies from Tarleton State University with current teaching certifications in EC-4, all-level special education, and ESL. She has over 13 years of teaching experience, including inclusive programming, behavior intervention support, and ESL. Ashley has also served as a specialized instruction homebound teacher for PK-12, elementary special education campus coordinator, and early childhood special education district facilitator.
Ashley is the mother of three children–all have health related disabilities.
DeNette has a BA in Special Education and Elementary Education from The University of Texas. She received her master's degree from Texas A &M in Educational Administration. DeNette has over 36 years of experience in the field of special education. She served as a teacher, Area Special Education Coordinator, and Director of Special Education.
DeNette has 2 children and 5 grandchildren. Her son has a learning disability and 2 of her grandchildren have health related disabilities.
Lauren holds a master's in special education from the University of Houston. She has 13 years of experience in the school setting. Lauren spent her first 6 years teaching in various special education settings ranging from behavioral units, inclusion support, and specialized instruction and spent the remaining 7 years as a Special Education Coordinator at both middle and high school levels.
Lauren has four children, one with learning disabilities and 2 with speech delays.
